Fighting for Redemption - Part 3

Psalm 107:2 says, “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary.” (NASB)

Part of our fight for redemption is the battle to overcome the enemy of shame from our past. For the Apostle Paul, he had to overcome the past shame of his zealous persecution of the Church. For me, it was everything from divorce, adultery, broken relationships, and a physical appearance that draws judgment because of my many tattoos. However, as I have learned to walk in freedom, the shame I once felt has been redeemed and has turned into a zeal to let the story of my rescue from darkness be known to everyone I meet and, more importantly, to the relationships I destroyed. I no longer allow that shame from the past to keep me from envisioning my future. A future of redeemed family relationships. A future of salvation for my household. Today, let’s pray for the boldness and courage to declare God's glory through the story that He is writing for us.

Lord, we come humbly to hand You the shame of our sinful past. We ask that you would redeem it by giving us a voice to speak of the mighty work that You have done in us!! Help us to no longer look down but up, towards opportunities to tell of the mighty work You have done in us and our families. Amen.
