Fighting for Redemption - Part 13

"Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ."

Galatians 6:2

Throughout my life I have realized there are certain issues, difficulties, and struggles that I just couldn't defeat on my own. By "on my own" I mean that no matter how hard I tried, no matter how much scripture I read, and no matter how much I prayed, I felt like I was losing the fight. I needed a brother to help me carry the burden of my fight. In return, I learned that I needed to be there for others who needed me to help bear their own burdens. Just as each part of our physical bodies is critical to maintaining health, each part of the body of Christ, the Church, is vital to helping us maintain freedom and to walk in purity. The bottom line is thiswe need each other. You cannot fight for redemption alone. My journey of seeing God's redemption in my life and in my family has been accelerated and more fruitful because I have allowed others to walk beside me and encourage me, pray for me, and hold me accountable.

In your own fight for redemption, are you struggling or growing weary? Humble yourself and find a trustworthy brother or sister to help you bear the burden. We need each other.

Father, You have called us to be a part of a family. While I have been fighting alone in this battle, I humble myself and ask that You would give me another brother or sister to help me bear this burden. Lord, give me the ability to also bear someone else's burden. Our strength comes from You, Lord. Send me those to partner with. Amen!
