The only reason we have a chance when fighting for redemption is that Jesus defeated Satan at the cross. Jesus lived His life and died as a sinless man to conquer the rule of the evil one. While we are still subject to be sinful, and are working out our sanctification, we have Someone fighting beside us and for us. In my life, things I was once powerless against—anger, lust, and addiction—I have now been able to get the upper hand and even conquer many sinful habits. That comes from knowing that I belong to Jesus, the One that has defeated both sin and Satan.
No matter what you are fighting to redeem today, take heart; your enemy has been judged and defeated!
Father, we stand in faith that both sin and Satan no longer have the ultimate power in our lives. We come under the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and declare that every battle we are fighting has already been won in the Spirit! Lord, help us to bring that victory to our flesh. We thank you Lord for Your redeeming victory on the cross. Amen.
