A Prayer Welcoming the Presence

Updated: Jun 17, 2020

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me."

Revelation 3:20 (ESV)

"Father God, open our hearts and ears to hear your knock on the door of our homes, because you are knocking. You want to be as involved in our home as you are in our private life and as you are in our church life. Lord, often we invite you in personally. We invite you into our church, and we certainly want you Lord in our church but more often, we miss the family. Forgive us Father. When you said, 'Here I am standing at the door and knocking. If anyone who hears my voice opens the door, I will come in and eat with him' you meant it as much for our families as you meant it for our own souls. And when you, Jesus, said, 'My house shall be a house of prayer for all nations,' you meant for our individual homes as well as the corporate gathering of our local churches. So Lord, right now, come and knock, we want to hear you knocking. We want to hear the heart of God for our families, for our marriages, for our children, and we do want to let you come in, to minister your presence, to reveal your salvation, your deliverance, your healing, your revelation, your provision. Lord come and make your presence known to us, that each of us personally, might know how to open the door to Christ at home and to know how to impart to others and call others to come to the table and fellowship with Jesus as families. Amen."
